Kara - Scan update

Kara got the results of her scan that she had on Thursday and it was CLEAN! YAY! With her scan being clear, it will give her a better chance of the stem cell transplant working. She goes to Vanderbilt on Tuesday and Wednesday for bloodwork and more information about the transplant. I got a call from them on Thursday saying they wanted me to give them a blood sample to see if I am a match for her. There are no plans for me to donate since they are going to be using her own stem cells but in the event she can't produce enough, they might need a donor. There is only a 25% chance of us matching but I guess they need to know in case of a "plan b." The nurse said I should get the kit by Monday. I will just need to get a blood sample drawn and FedEx it back. I'm not sure how long it will take for results. More info to come later!
