Kara - Saturday update

As of last night Kara had two options. They recommended that she just go home and spend her last few weeks at home with Skylar. The other option was to start a new chemo regimen that has a very good chance of killing her. Well, being the type of person Kara is, she's not going to go home and wait to die. So she is going forward with the chemo. It's a combo of drugs that have not been tried before so we do not know how how Kara or the cancer will respond. They will start Rituxan today and infuse Gemzar, Navelbine, and Doxil tomorrow. From what I understand this is typically a Hodgkins regimen (minus the Rituxan). Thanks for your continued thoughts and prayers.

I also have Facebook and am posting frequent status updates if you'd like to add me.

Want you to know that I include your family in my prayers every night. I feel like I'm walking through this with you guys as my mom just got past her 100 day mark with her stem cell transplant. She has a PET scan today and I'm hoping for good news. Your sister is a trooper and has a fighting spirit. I pray for courage, strength, and peace while going through this next round.

I have added you to my blogroll - Lymphoma? Also...Open invitation to you and your readers to participate in the Being Cancer Book Club. This month we are discussing “The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch. “...the lecture he gave ... was about the importance of overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment (because “time is all you have…and you may find one day that you have less than you think”). It was a summation of everything Randy had come to believe. It was about living.”
Monday is Book Club day; Tuesday Guest Blog and Friday Cancer News Roundup.
Also check out Cancer Blog Links containing over 225 blog links and Cancer Resources with 230 referenced sites, both divided into disease categories.
Please accept this invitation to join our growing cancer blogging community at www.beingcancer.net
